Passing on the torch to Katherine Duan, an avid 11th grade peace advocate, we are excited to continue our legacy of promoting nuclear weapon education at Westridge school. Together, we will emphasize the importance of preserving Hibakusha stories and a world with no more nukes–even reaching out to new high schools in the wider L.A. area.

Katherine is a junior at Westridge School who joined Teens 4 Disarmament & Nonproliferation in 2026 as [title]. Due to her experience in debate and personal passion for research and advocacy, she has been interested in preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. A weapon that could cause existential harm upon just one launch has unjustifiable risk, and any single strike harms generations of people. It's essential to preserve and spread the stories of people affected so that we can work toward a safer solution.

Outside of Teens4Disarmament, you can find Katherine reading mystery novels, acting in school plays, and competing at speech and debate tournaments.
